Trainee Assistant Buyer

The Role

A new role has been created reporting to and working closely with the Category Buyers and Purchasing team. It is an entry level position in the team with an initial focus on providing administrative support to the Buying team whilst managing a portfolio of Suppliers. The role will involve liaising between the different depots and ensuring we have the right products at the right time, ensuring product stock levels are kept in line with customer demand. In time, and after completion of training, the successful post holder will become an Assistant Buyer.

Job Responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day stock and order requirements for your suppliers
  • Ensuring product availability is in line with customer demand
  • Identifying and resolving potential issues and opportunities
  • Reviewing daily stock availability reports
  • Maintaining product pricing
  • Sourcing new products
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required

–      English and Maths GCSE

  • Demonstrable evidence of a good level of Microsoft Excel ability
  • Ability to quickly pick up and understand new systems
